Orbit 0.4.0 is the release that turns “bring your own key” from the only path into a choice. You can still paste Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, or point at Ollama. Or you can sign in with GitHub, open Orbit Provider, and use managed models — including the GLM-5.2 launch offer — without juggling another console account.
Settings → Providers now opens with a dedicated Orbit Provider section at the top. Click Sign in with GitHub, finish in the browser, and you’re back in the editor. Your session stays on your machine. After sign-in, Orbit pulls the models your account can access. Hit Refresh models whenever you want the latest catalog.
When you’re signed in, the chat sidebar footer shows your GitHub avatar, plan, and remaining credits — the same numbers as Settings. Refresh the wallet in one place and the other updates with it.
Hosted usage bills from a prepaid USD wallet. Remaining balance lives in Settings → Account and the profile footer. A low-balance warning appears before you burn out mid-session. Billing & usage opens your account on the web for top-ups, invoices, and subscription management.
Plan labels (Free, Pro, and the rest) stay consistent across the editor so you always know which tier you’re on.
The Providers tab separates three clear lanes:
Orbit Provider models sort to the top of the Models list when you’re signed in, so the default path stays obvious without hiding your other connections.
Wallet sync is shared across settings and the sidebar — one source of truth. Signing out of Orbit Provider clears the session and revokes access cleanly. On Windows, if SuperGrok browser sign-in doesn’t complete, Orbit offers a device-code path so subscription auth still works.
Download Orbit 0.4.0 from the download page, or read the full notes on the changelog. For the GLM-5.2 half-price offer on Orbit Provider, see the companion post. Setup steps live in the docs.
Z.ai’s frontier coding model — long context, strong agents — is available through Orbit Provider at half price for the launch window. Here’s how to use it in Orbit 0.4.0.
